We are happy to share with you that this year Dharma Gaia has been able to deepen our efforts in a particular area of community work. Some years before ordaining as a Nun, Sister Shalom completed training at the Zen Hospice in San Francisco and further studies in New Zealand. Until this year it has not been possible for her to commit much energy to this area of service, however conditions have improved and we are finding ways to support her to develop more in this precious area of her service. Her presence offers a gentle solace and peace to the dying person, their family, friends and other caregivers. And can include officiating at Funerals and Life Celebration Services. Dharma Gaia is very happy to be developing ways to extend the gift of this service of True Presence at End of Life. There are no charges for this care but we encourage those we support to contribute towards her costs according to their capacity and where possible offer donations towards the ongoing commitment for this service.
