Visiting Dharma Gaia

Dharma Gaia welcomes retreatants in many capacities.
Some come for spiritual sanctuary, to rest and rejuvenate.
Some come for specific retreats and practice periods to enjoy developing the Art of Mindful Living.
Some come to reconnect with nature, with themselves... to come home to life and what really matters to them.
All who come drink deeply from the tranquillity, the profound peace and beauty that emanates from this gentle oasis of aliveness.

Accommodation
The accommodation is simple, clean and comfortable.
There are possibilities for single room chalets or to share in one of the single-sex dormitories.
Food is vegetarian, locally grown and organic as much as possible.

Fees
It is our commitment to keep the basic cost of staying as low as possible, so that all who wish to come can do so.
Cost for accommodation per night is presently set at $40.00. Plus $15 a day for food.
It is possible for visitors to provide their own food to keep their costs low.

Work Exchange
Dharma Gaia offers Work Exchange to reduce the cost of a stay.

Support Scholarship Programme
We are also able to offer partial Support Scholarships to genuine cases of financial challenge.

To apply for either of these programmes, please email us writing 'Support Programme' in the subject line.

Getting to Dharma Gaia

Our schedule does change often, and it is essential you make contact with us to arrange a suitable time before coming to visit.

By Car
Dharma Gaia Garden is located on State Highway 25, 38 km north of Thames on the Coromandel Peninsula and 3 km south of Manaia village.
Look out for the Dharma Gaia Garden and Mana Retreat Centre sign (on the right, behind a right bend if travelling from Thames).

By Bus
The InterCity Coachlines service from Thames to Coromandel township runs past Dharma Gaia. The bus drivers are usually more than happy to drop people off at our gate.
