This 3 month retreat is the jewel in the heart of the year … this is the deep quiet intimatecy in which we meet life fully with wisdom and compassion
Revelation is possible. The Winter Retreat is founded on the Buddhist monastic practice to settle in one place, to turn diligently into a steady schedule for 3 months. it is a time for the heart to be deeply nourished and the mind to open to the bright clear light within. It is a time to be supported in community - in communion. This deeper more concentrated Winter Retreat is primarily for the long-term residential Sangha but is also a powerful call to deep practice for those who wish to join.us
Places on the Winter Retreat are limited. Preference will be given to those who want to join for the whole 3 months, but space may also be available for one or two months. Cost: $5000 - $4800 (NZ Dollars) is for the full 3 months - 13 weeks of board, food, training and full participation in all the Winter Retreat Programmes- (this is a sliding scale; participants will choose where on that scale they can afford).
Once again this year, we are very grateful to have been gifted 2 scholarship Intern possibilities for young people from 28 to 38 years old. (there may be some flexibility). Please see the separate website entry for the YOUNG INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME FOR WINTER
if you are unable to attend the full retreat there may be possibilities to attend for a 4 week period only - board, food training and participation in the opening 5 day retreat- $1760 - 1700 (this is a sliding scale; participants will choose where on that scale they can afford).
